Our Mission

Since its inception in 1992, the Association for Homeschooling has promoted the recognition of the right of parents to educate their children within the family in South Africa, as it is recognised in art. 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Right which states: “Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.” Since 2010, the Association also promotes these parental rights in the larger Southern Africa region.

Constitutional Court confirms parental rights

Some parts of the Childrens Act were declared invalid by the Constitutional Court in South Africa. In August 2010 which children were removed from beggars and placed in temporary safe care during a raid. The children's parents approached the high court for an order restoring them to their care, which was granted following the court's assertion that the move constituted an infringement of the right of the child to family care...

Kan Christene hulle kinders na staatskole stuur?

Aan die begin van die jaar moet Christen ouers weer besluit oor die plek waar hulle kinders onderwys gaan ontvang. In Suid-Afrika kies die meeste Christen ouers om hulle kinders na staatskole te stuur. Slegs ‘n minderheid kies vir tuisonderwys of Christelike privaatskole. Daar word algemeen erken dat daar probleme is met staatsonderwys. Die kurrikulum is daarop gerig om die intergeloof godsdiens oor te dra (kliek hier vir ‘n verslag hieroor)....

VAN : Pestalozzi Trust vir tuis- en burgerlike onderwys - 4 Januarie 2012 Ontleding van die resultaat in die 2011 matriekeksamen toon dat tuisleerders weereens uitstekend presteer het. Lees meer. Voorlopige resultate van die Eksamenraad vir Christelike Onderwys (ERCO) geskryf het, toon dat ongeveer 500 bona fide tuisleerder die eksamen geskryf het en ’n slaagsyfer van ongeveer 93% behaal het. Van die kandidate wat geslaag het, het ongeveer 63% met universiteitsvrystelling...

FROM : Pestalozzi Trust legal defence fund for home and civil education - 4th January 2012 Analysis of results in the 2011 matric examinations shows that homeschoolershave again performed superbly. Ons Missie

Sedert sy oprigting in 1992 het die Vereniging vir Tuisonderwys hom beywer vir die erkenning van ouers se reg om hulle kinders binne familieverband op te voed in Suid-Afrika, soos dit erken word in art. 26 van die Universele Verklaring van Menseregte wat verklaar: “Ouers het die reg om te kies watter tipe opvoeding hulle kinders ontvang.” Sedert 2010 bevorder die vereniging hierdie ouerlike regte ook in die Suider-Afrikaanse streek.
