Our Mission

Since its inception in 1992, the Association for Homeschooling has promoted the recognition of the right of parents to educate their children within the family in South Africa, as it is recognised in art. 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Right which states: “Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.” Since 2010, the Association also promotes these parental rights in the larger Southern Africa region.

The Association for Homeschooling received a request for help from Wendy Young from Footprints On Our Land for maths curriculums for Gr 1 and Gr 3. The parents were unemployed for some time and have had to sell up and move back in with their own parents. Dis was opvallend oor die laaste maande dat tuisonderwys voorgekom het in ’n verskeidenheid gewilde films. Van hierdie films het ook onlangs toekennings ontvang. Dolphin Tale is ’n 3D film van Warner Bros. en is gebaseer op ’n ware verhaal van ’n beseerde dolfyn wat gered en in ’n akwarium gerehabiliteer is. Twee van die hoofkarakters is kinders. Meeting of Gauteng Department of Education and Homeschoolers

On 21 September 2011, the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) had a public meeting with homeschooling parents in Pretoria. President of Swedish Association for Home Education flees Sweden

As the government intensifies its persecution of homeschoolers in Sweden, the president of the Swedish Association for Home Education (ROHUS) has finally been forced into exile with his family in neighboring Finland. Ons Missie

Sedert sy oprigting in 1992 het die Vereniging vir Tuisonderwys hom beywer vir die erkenning van ouers se reg om hulle kinders binne familieverband op te voed in Suid-Afrika, soos dit erken word in art. 26 van die Universele Verklaring van Menseregte wat verklaar: “Ouers het die reg om te kies watter tipe opvoeding hulle kinders ontvang.” Sedert 2010 bevorder die vereniging hierdie ouerlike regte ook in die Suider-Afrikaanse streek.
