Phonix in a Box is a South African company that supplies fun, colourful phonic resources, to supplement any phonic system. We have a range of phonic workbooks, playing cards and board games available from our online store.

All our resources have been designed by a Speech-Language Therapist and they are widely used in schools all over South Africa and in many home schools too.

Phonic workbooks from Grades 0 to 6 (English only)
Our books follow a progressive scheme for children to build upon previously taught phonic skills. They are based on the 44 sounds in English and teach children to group the letter combinations that represent the same sound e.g. 'e' 'ee' 'ea' 'ey' and 'y' all represent the long /e/ sound.
A weekly spelling list is included with a funl worksheet to practise the spelling words. These worksheets are packed with vocabulary and language activities e.g. rhyming, similes, proverbs, idioms, collective nouns, word riddles etc.

Phonic playing cards (English and Afrikaans)
There are 8 different boxes of English cards that represent the different spelling combinations and sounds. Each card is beautifully illustrated, in full colour and with the written word and letters highlighted. Children will love playing Go Fish, Rummy and Snap while learning about letters and sounds.

"Klanke in Kassies" is our Afrikaans phonic cards and consists of 2 different boxes.

Phonic board games (English)
Our board games are another fun way for children to practise their weekly spelling words. The same spelling words have been used from our phonic books in all the board games, so children can play Bingo and Four in a Row, while learning their spelling words for the week. This will also help strengthen their reading skills.
